Be warned: “That which holds the image of an Angel becomes itself an Angel.”
This type poster was inspired from a quote from the British series, Doctor Who. The project was part of a series of posters with a primary focus on typography and layout. As the subject is a Weeping Angel, a series villain, I wanted to give the text a rough, stoney, worn appearance to match the contour, shape, and edges of the figure. To help achieve this, I used a displacement map from the image of a weeping to subtly transfer the contour into the letters.
Tools used were Adobe Illustrator for initial layout and Photoshop for final touches.
